About the Project

Our senior design team has been tasked with designing a new 60MW solar plant and 115/34.5kV distribution substation to meet the increasing renewable energy requirements for utilities. We will be working with the company Black and Veatch in order to ensure that our designs are correct and within reason. During the fall semester, our focus was on the design of the solar plant. Our team has been in charge of deciding on the equipment used in the design and corresponding calculations to confirm the design meets project requirements. In the spring, we will design the ditribution substation.
